Katy and the Lib Dems have a record of campaigning and getting things done locally.
- Katy fought to save both Hyndland and Kelvindale Post Offices, leading the campaign for Kelvindale, both with the strong support of local people. These 2 post offices were the only ones saved in Glasgow
- Katy and the Lib Dem team worked with local people to prevent the Labour City Council from allowing a nightclub to be built in the world famous Botanic Gardens.
- Katy and the the Lib Dems have campaigned for a mandatory National Accreditation Scheme for factors and a National Tenancy Deposit Scheme – the Scottish Government has now agreed to introduce the Tenancy Deposit scheme as a result of Lib Dem pressure
- Katy and the Lib Dems fought alongside parents in Wyndford and Cadder to save Wyndford, St Gregory’s and St Agnes primary schools from closure – the Labour council eventually ignored the protests and closed all the schools despite 96% of submissions to the consultation being against closure
