Thank you

Saturday, May 8th | by Katy Gordon Comments

Despite running a very strong campaign in Glasgow North, and increasing the Lib Dem vote share by 4%, Katy Gordon was defeated by the incumbent Labour MP in the General Election on 6th May.

The Liberal Democrat campaign focused on positive policies and the clear desire on the streets to have an MP who genuinely listens and takes up local campaigns. However, Labour succeeded on polling day in getting out enough voters to hold on in the seat.

Katy sends the following message to local supporters:

“Local Liberal Democrats and our supporters should be proud of the part they played in the campaign and view the increase in vote share as a good springboard for future elections.

I would like to thank the hundreds of members, supporters and volunteers who contributed to the campaign. I am proud of the team, and look forward to building on this result.

Thank you to all those who voted for me, and supported my campaigns.

Katy”

Katy - I'm sorry that you didn't win Glasgow North, you certainly deserved to. You got my vote as promised. I guess that Labour got their core vote out, funny that always happens when there's the possibility of a UK Tory Government - they weren't so concerned in 2005! Well done for increasing the LD vote by 4%. And remember - live to fight another day, there's a Scottish Parliamentary election on 5 May 2011! Your leader is now doing the right thing - lets hope he gets fair taxes, no ID cards & a PR referendum from David C. Best wishes, Andrew B.
