Evening Times: Schools fight ends in defeat

Just in from the evening times: Disbelief as schools fight ends in defeat.

Selected quotes include:

Tracey Wilson, 34, said: “I’m absolutely shocked. I have always voted Labour and I feel let down.

Tracey added: “It’s brought the community of Wyndford closer together. We can hold our heads up high when we come out of here.”

It is clear that Labour are not standing up for the people of Glasgow North. Local people know it.

At the next General Election the fight will be between Labour and the Lib Dems. There are only 3338 votes in it.

This fight isn't over until the full vote by Glasgow City Council on Thursday 23rd
  • It's such a shame these schools are being closed. I know for sure it wouldn't have happened if you were MP Katy! Someone who actually gives a damn about the area we live in, unlike Ann McKechin!
  • Are they really this arrogant? I'm so sick of Labour right now... Purcell should be ashamed.

Ann's curry venture is pretty much the only thing she's done here in the past 8 years. More people recognise Katy's name on the doorstep than hers!
  • This is really disappointing, especially considering how hard everyone has campaigned against the closure of St.Gregory's and Wyndford school.

Ann McKechin seems more concerned about finding a good curry it seems...
  • It's terrible that Labour are choosing to close the schools - especially with the strength of local opposition.

The days of Labour in Glasgow are clearly numbered.
