Katy joined Tavish Scott, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, outside the SECC in Glasgow  today to protest at the Lloyds TSB AGM considering the proposed merger of HBOS with Lloyds TSB.

Speaking to shareholders attending the AGM and handing out protest fliers, Katy said:
“The takeover of HBOS by Lloyds TSB will see bank branches close with hundreds of jobs lost across Scotland and higher bank charges for customers.

The taxpayer has already paid billions of pounds to support British banks, we believe the Government should have secured guarantees about keeping branches open and protection of jobs. It is still not too late to find an alternative that is better for Scottish workers, the Scottish financial sector and Scottish taxpayers.”
