Katy and the local Liberal Democrat team have found that Iraq is still a big
issue with local voters, when out speaking to residents in Maryhill / Kelvin
recently. Glaswegians are still angry with Labour’s continuing failure in
Iraq to learn from our mistakes. The latest blunder by the Labour
government is a total inability to recognise that Iraqi translaters who have
worked with our soldiers will be put in danger as we start to withdraw
troops. We have a moral obligation to ensure they do not suffer from
helping us and we should be offering asylum to all those who have been
working for our armed forces.
