Meeting the Hindu Community

Katy and Abdul Khan, Lib Dem Hillhead council candidate, today (Sunday 29th April) met members of the Hindu community from across Scotland at the temple in La Belle Place, in the heart of Glasgow Kelvin constituency. After observing prayers in the beautiful recently completed central hall, Katy and Abdul were invited to join members for lunch. Over chapatis and dhal, Katy and Abdul discussed prospects for the forthcoming election and what issues are important to local residents (and those from further afield). Clearly issues such as asylum and immigration, civil liberties and equality of opportunity are important, but residents are just as concerned about the education system, the health service and crime.
